MANNA IN THE MORNING
A daily dose of God's Word

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread (manna) of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst."

2 Samuel 24: When God Allows the Hard Stuff
When I read that moment with Araunah, I caught myself thinking, must be nice… some people have all the luck. Talk about victim thinking, grrrrr I hate when I do that!

2 Samuel 22: When The World Feels Against You...
We created a devotional to go with our daily Bible reading—not to replace it. It’s simple, personal, and written to help you apply the Word to whatever season you’re in.
All proceeds go directly to The Well Encounter INC (a 501(c)3 nonprofit). 💛
Let’s get in the Word—together.

2 Samuel 23: When the Word Feels Off—Dig Deeper
When anything feels "off" when reading the Word trust It as a sign to dig a little deeper. Don't just read the Bible "as is" if you will. Talk to a paster, take it into Bible study, pray about it, do a little conversing with chat gpt or even read the same part of scripture across several translations to see if it breeds deeper revelation and greater clarity.

2 Samuel 20:8–10: When the System Stops Restraining Them
The goal is not to dismiss grace—but to acknowledge truth. Grace says: You are still loved. Truth says: But this is who you are right now. Grace says: You are more than your worst moment. Truth says: But you still have to face the consequences of it.

2 Samuel 19: Living in the Tension of Both/And
The question isn’t “which hat do I wear? ”It’s “how do I wear both well—without losing myself in the process?”

2 Samuel 18: The Relief Of It All
The more I’ve walked through the hard parts of parenting, especially with kids who carry trauma or make choices that don’t reflect who I know they are deep down, the more I understand this tension. That ache of “what could I have done differently?”

2 Samuel 17: No Scheme of Man: The Unshakable Hope We Have in Christ Alone
I often pray, "Lord, the weapons may have formed, and I may feel surrounded—but thank You for Your Word that declares, in Jesus’ name, they will not prosper!" What a clear reminder of that truth today!

2 Samuel 15: Where Is David?
The more questions I asked, the more I realized just how absent, complacent, and checked out. David had become—surrendered as in, he’d given up. It’s easy to get caught up in analyzing his story, but maybe the real invitation is to let it speak into mine. What am I not stewarding well? Where have I checked out or quietly given up?

2 Samuel 14: Longing for Absalom
When I read about Absalom and Tamar, and I see David’s silence… I don’t know what he was thinking. The Bible doesn’t really tell us. I know what it feels like to sit in the aftermath and wish I’d done something different. It's like you are darned If you do and darned If you don't.

2 Samuel 16: Who Do I Call First?
When something hard or confusing happens, How many times do we find ourselves reaching for the phone instead of falling to our knees. I’ve done that more times than I’d like to admit.

No Immunity, No Innocent Bystanders: 2 Samuel 11
Reading 2 Samuel 11 today left me heartbroken—not just for what David did, but for what it reminds me about all of us. None of us are exempt from temptation or falling into sin.

There’s Room for All of Us: 2 Samuel 9
How human it is to feel forgotten, unseen, maybe too far gone. The beauty of being a follower of Jesus is no matter how broken, beat up or far away we have been, He's waiting for us and has a space for us. He doesn't forget about us! We belong with Jesus!

2 Samuel 8: More = Better?
Isn't it interesting how more makes us think better? Is it though? Is having and doing more always better?

2 Samuel 5: Don’t Assume—Ask
How do I forget that the King of the whole world is in me and with me?
I want to get better at asking for the Lord’s strategy—not just in the big, obvious decisions but in the little ones too. The parenting moments. The conversations I replay in my head. The work opportunities. Even my calendar. All of it. What an AHA today!
He’s not just available for the major moves. He’s present in the mundane too.

2 Samuel 4:11 — Mercy That Doesn’t Make Sense
What if God wants to do it differently this time? In 2 Samuel 5:23, David doesn’t assume—he inquires again. A personal reflection on learning to pause, ask, and trust God’s fresh strategy for each moment. How would that not be the move, knowing we have the Lord for anything and everything we may need.
