MANNA IN THE MORNING

When I read about Absalom and Tamar, and I see David’s silence… I don’t know what he was thinking. The Bible doesn’t really tell us. I know what it feels like to sit in the aftermath and wish I’d done something different. It's like you are darned If you do and darned If you don't.

It's days like this I love to say it out loud, "God is good, God is good to me and God is good at being God!"

Reflecting on 1 Samuel 25 and 26, I saw my past in Abigail’s story and my present in David’s restraint. Here's what I'm learning about kindness, strength, and letting God fight my battles.

Ever wanted to clap back but felt God say don’t? Same. This look at David sparing Saul hit me hard—instead of forcing his moment, he waited on God. Maybe it’s not punishment. Maybe it’s protection.

Trusting God with my singleness, my calling, and all the detours in between. If David could find refuge in enemy land, maybe I can find peace in this too.

I’ve wrestled with verses like 1 Samuel 28:6—where God doesn’t answer Saul—and wondered how that lines up with the God I know. Anyone else?

If you’ve ever wrestled with the feeling that people are getting away with doing wrong, here's a reminder, Saul may have been king, but his life was filled with fear, insecurity, and spiritual torment—reminding us that true justice often happens on the inside, not just in public outcomes.

A reflection on 1 Samuel 23:2 about serving others in hard times. How David looked outward when it would have been easier to stay focused on his own struggles—and how we can too.

Today, my goal isn’t to tell anyone how to live or to cast stones. I have no room to point fingers.

Where Saul’s story ends in tragedy, ours doesn’t have to. Saul was given over to himself, but Jesus gave Himself for us. Where we deserve to bear the weight of our rebellion, Jesus bore it on the cross. ✨ Lord, soften my heart. Where I’ve insisted on my own way, help me lay it down. Keep me close — I don’t want to be given over; I want to walk with You. Amen.

This simple discipline—reading just one chapter of the Bible a day—has shaped my walk with the Lord in ways I never could have expected.

My prayer is that this series and/or my blog helps you, like it helps me, stay consistent, stay curious, and stay open to how God wants to meet you—every single day.

I often want to relate to heroes of the faith like David or Moses or even Paul, but today I’m wondering if I’m a Saul.

How is it even possible to find Joy in the suffering? Im not quite sure but it is happening. Im a living example.

I enjoyed reading this so much I think I actually LOL’ed. It reminds me of what it says in Luke, if we don’t praise Him the rocks will.

When He calls not only do I want to hear the call, but my desire is to respond immediately, “Yes Lord”

I am not alone! The Lord is with me every step of the way. His presence is with me. The enemy loves to tell me I am alone! I am not!
