“One day David asked, ‘Is anyone in Saul’s family still alive—anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?’”‭‭ 2 Samuel‬ ‭9:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’ve never known a king—and I’ve definitely never been one. BUT I’ve known CEOs. Ive met and spent time with mega leaders and people with a lot of influence. One thing they have In common; they don't have a lot of spare time on their hands. How cool it was to see how David

remembered Jonathan. He didn’t just think about him or miss him. He did something. He went looking for a way to honor his promise to him. He went out of his way to show kindness—to do right by his friend.

I guess I just sat there thinking, David is so kind. He is so thoughtful. Look at how intentional he Is. I let things slip often—it’s really easy to drop the ball. We all get busy. Im often not surpised something has fallen through the cracks. Im a single, working mom of 5. Wouldn't that be natural!

I’m sure Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth, felt forgotten, left behind and even unseen. Then here comes David—bringing him in. He literally pulled up a seat at the table for someone who really

though he didn't belong. What a picture of how God sees us. We can say, “Wow, David remembered…”But ultimately? It’s a reminder that God remembers.

Even in our brokenness. Even when we feel disqualified. Even when we think we’ve been passed over—He sees us. Mephibosheth said, “Who am I?” Like he was nobody. Did he forget he was the grandson of a king. There’s room for all of us at the table. It’s not just David and his lineage. It’s not just the people who have it all together. It’s all of us.

I need this reminder and Im sure YOU can use the reminder too. God hasn’t forgotten you friend.
