Wowwwwwww woweeeeee—Can you even imagine seeking refuge in the land of people you once called your enemy?

HA! David sought safety in Philistine territory. With Achish of all people. The same kind of people

he once fought against. The same people who praised Goliath, the giant David took down.

I can't help but wonder, "What is happening?" David finds a home, a place to settle, even favor—and he finds it in a place that doesn’t make logical sense.

“Achish trusted David and said to himself, ‘He is hated so much by his own people the Israelites that he will have to serve me all his life.’” (1 Samuel 27:12 GNT)

Whether this was David’s idea or God’s orchestration, what I know is this: refuge came from an unexpected source. It’s just one more reminder that God’s ways are not mine. His thoughts are higher. His strategies are wild sometimes. He doesn’t need my logic. He just needs my trust.

Im feeling a bit of conviction. Am I choosing to trust the Lord even when nothing makes sense? It's not adding up, AT ALL? Whether it’s about my calling, my family, my relationships, or this season of singleness—I’m laying it down.

Not my will, Lord, but Yours. Do what only You can do. I trust You.
