MANNA IN THE MORNING

The question isn’t “which hat do I wear? ”It’s “how do I wear both well—without losing myself in the process?”

The more I’ve walked through the hard parts of parenting, especially with kids who carry trauma or make choices that don’t reflect who I know they are deep down, the more I understand this tension. That ache of “what could I have done differently?”

I often pray, "Lord, the weapons may have formed, and I may feel surrounded—but thank You for Your Word that declares, in Jesus’ name, they will not prosper!" What a clear reminder of that truth today!

The more questions I asked, the more I realized just how absent, complacent, and checked out. David had become—surrendered as in, he’d given up. It’s easy to get caught up in analyzing his story, but maybe the real invitation is to let it speak into mine. What am I not stewarding well? Where have I checked out or quietly given up?

When I read about Absalom and Tamar, and I see David’s silence… I don’t know what he was thinking. The Bible doesn’t really tell us. I know what it feels like to sit in the aftermath and wish I’d done something different. It's like you are darned If you do and darned If you don't.

When something hard or confusing happens, How many times do we find ourselves reaching for the phone instead of falling to our knees. I’ve done that more times than I’d like to admit.

Reading 2 Samuel 11 today left me heartbroken—not just for what David did, but for what it reminds me about all of us. None of us are exempt from temptation or falling into sin.

How human it is to feel forgotten, unseen, maybe too far gone. The beauty of being a follower of Jesus is no matter how broken, beat up or far away we have been, He's waiting for us and has a space for us. He doesn't forget about us! We belong with Jesus!
