“He then said, “God’s word: Dig ditches all over this valley. Here’s what will happen—you won’t hear the wind, you won’t see the rain, but this valley is going to fill up with water and your army and your animals will drink their fill. This is easy for God to do; he will also hand over Moab to you. You will ravage the country: Knock out its fortifications, level the key villages, clear-cut the orchards, clog the springs, and litter the cultivated fields with stones.”” ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭19‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The Lord gave me an idea almost six months ago. I didn’t just sit on it—I’ve taken some small steps here and there—but I haven’t moved like I should have. Lately, I’ve felt Him pressing on me to take bigger steps. The kind of steps that make your stomach flip. The kind of steps that look a little crazy in the natural.

That’s where this scripture lands so deeply with me today. Digging ditches in a dry valley makes

ree

no sense without rain clouds in sight. No thunder. No wind. Nothing. Just a whole lot of digging.

That’s exactly how I’ve felt—packing boxes, selling furniture, working with the designer, moving forward with this house before I can even see the full picture. I don’t even have a signed contract yet—yeash!

Part of me feels excited. Another part nervous. And honestly, I’ve felt a little bummed that I haven’t done more already. Today, I heard the Lord whisper: Don’t just talk about it. Start digging.

So that’s where I’m at—I’m going to keep digging ditches, even when it doesn’t make sense yet. Maybe even dig deeper. I love how the Message says, “This is easy for God to do.” What looks impossible to me is nothing for Him.

I write this blog daily to share what the Lord is showing me in real time, and I hope it encourages you. Today I can’t help but ask: is God asking you to prepare for something you can’t yet see? If so, let’s pick up the shovel together. Let’s dig the ditches now and trust that the rain is coming.
