MANNA IN THE MORNING

Lord, I lay it down. I surrender. No more questions and no more buts. Simply—Not my will, but Thy will be done.

It's as If I heard, If you can take it, why wouldn’t you? Talk about timing...and revealing. Just because I can doesn’t mean I should.

This post reflects on 1 Kings 15:5 and 1 Kings 15:14, where both David and Asa are remembered as loyal to God despite clear imperfections. It explores how God measures faithfulness by the direction of the heart rather than flawless performance, and what that means for our own walk with Him.

What if you don’t have to force what God has already formed. He’s not asking you to make yourself worthy. He’s just inviting you to build with Him. Stone by stone. With reverence. With peace. With trust. Stop making it so complicated! His yoke is easy and His burden is light! If it's not easy or light, it's likely YOU not Him!

The heart of the issue hasn’t shifted much over time—it’s still the sin of self. Idolatry doesn’t always show up as a carved image or a pagan altar. More often, it’s giving in to what pleases "us/me" most, even when it competes with what pleases the Lord most.

My hope can’t be in my performance or my ability to close a deal. Deals, deadlines, and even the “win” of a signed contract can’t be my Savior—and they’ll never deliver the fulfillment I think they will.

Reading 1 Kings 8:34 reminded me that God is always bringing us back—not just to physical lands, but to promises and places He prepared in advance for us to walk in. This was an emotional read for me this morning. It took me back to that moment in Mexico where I felt the call—and I still believe He called me. He just had a different picture in mind. It's still unfolding it.

What if true leadership isn’t about control—but trust? Solomon didn’t micromanage. He honored people, gave rest, and built with wisdom. Could that be why his kingdom flourished? What would it look like to lead like that today?
