“I thought I should inform you: Buy it back in the presence of those seated here and in the presence of the elders of my people. If you want to redeem it, do it. But if you do not want to redeem it, tell me so that I will know, because there isn’t anyone other than you to redeem it, and I am next after

you.”“I want to redeem it,” he answered.—Ruth 4:4 CSB
It’s easy to read a passage like this and think, “See? When you do the right thing, everything works out.” Real life has taught me—it’s just not that simple.
I can’t help but admire Boaz. He didn’t rush. He didn’t manipulate the situation or try to skip the hard parts. He honored the process. He waiting on the Lord. He trusted. He moved with patience, integrity, and obedience. I am certasinly not believing this path comes with an insurance policy to no pain, but he was blessed.
I think about order and alignment a lot—especially as I look ahead to what I hope will be my next relationship… my future marriage. There’s a deep longing in me to do it differently this time. To follow God’s order. I’m not chasing perfection by any means. Perfection doesn't guarantee a smooth road or a fairytale ending. I truly believe (and see here today) that His way brings a level of peace and goodness—even when it’s hard. Even when it takes time.
I just want to walk in obedience. I welcome any and all blessings that flow from that place.
