“These are the kings east of the Jordan River who had been killed by the Israelites and whose land was taken. Their territory extended from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon and included all the land east of the Jordan Valley.”— Joshua 12:1 NLT
“The following is a list of the kings that Joshua and the Israelite armies defeated on the west side of the Jordan... Joshua gave this land to the tribes of Israel as their possession.”— Joshua 12:7 NLT
Chapter 8, 9, 10,11 & 12 is basically a long list of battles fought and kings defeated — victory after victory — It was very real warfare. It was physical. It was emotional. It was waring. It was exhausting.
It made me think, "Why do I sometimes expect walking into God's promises in my own life to feel easy? Sure God is giving the victory, that shouldn't mean It doesn't still require us to fight, to be obedient, to show up, and to endure the cost of the process.
It reminded me of seasons in my own life — like fighting court battles, navigating emotional exhaustion, or just enduring long periods of deep mental and spiritual fatigue when I prayed constantly and knew God was moving...there was still a cost to being in the fight. It truly felt like several of these seasons aged me and Im sure they did.
I share more of my heart and this revelation in today's video — I’d love for you to take a few minutes to watch it:
You’re not alone if you're in a season where the promise feels costly. Victory still requires something of us — but we are never fighting alone.
