Genesis 48: A Posture of Surrender & Expectation too

“Tearfully, Israel said to Joseph, “I never thought I’d see your face again, and now, God has let me see my grandchildren as well!”” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭48‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I got super emotional as I read this part of the text today. There are so many things I have given up

on. Acceptance is important, surrender is important too, but just because something hasn't happened YET or isn't happening doesn't mean it won't! It makes me think of surrender as an image with our hands wide up, facing up. That way we are letting go and yet in a posture to receive too.

This verse is such a testament to the faithfulness of our God. Not for one minute, will we be forsaken. He will use all things for our good, and even if we can’t see what might still be in process, we can live surrendered and totally keep our hearts and hands open to a God, who is faithful. He is good.

I’m celebrating today all things as they are, trusting God is writing my story. Even what I can see or don’t understand I can trust Him.
