Read the Bible with Me

Updated: Jul 1

Today I read 2 Corinthians 4 in the AMPLIFIED version. Before we get started I want to encourage you to download the YOUVersion Bible app on your phone. It will allow you to read with me In many different translations. It brings the Word to life In such new ways each day as I read. AND of course it's convenient! Who doesn't take their phone everywhere. Why not include the Word of God!

Now before we go further, say a quick prayer asking the Lord to open your heart as you read His word. Then go ahead and read the chapter for today!

Oh my goodness, I loved this translation because it was so descriptive. For this very reason I will often read In the NLT or NIV and when a verse jumps off the page at me I compare It In many translations. Sometimes I read the whole chapter In the one that stood out or the verse In particular, but It helps me draw so much more meaning as I read. I can relate to these feelings expressed today from multiple seasons of my life, including the one Im walking through right now.

“We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed; always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown in our body.

BUT GOD….

For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]!” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬, ‭17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I can rest knowing God is good. He is working it all for my good, my kids good, and even more importantly HE goes before me, he is beside me, he is in me, he is all around me, he is with me. And even more so I rest and take joy in the fact that he is also all these things for my children. no matter how much I love them he loves them more and he cares about their lives more than I ever could, which seems impossible, but I know it’s true.

So I say this morning, "YES Lord! Have your way in me. Have your way in them." AND Im listening to this song on repeat! It's my anthem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUAjqmUHWbI
