I don’t ever want to miss an opportunity the Lord has for me.

“At that time Hanani the seer came to King Asa and told him, ‘Because you have put your trust in the king of Aram instead of in the Lord your God, you missed your chance to destroy the army of the king of Aram.’”‭‭ 2 Chronicles‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How much have I missed out on in an attempt to do things the way I think they should be done. It’s all very Ironic because I’d actually call myself a strong-willed person — a little independent in a lot of ways. My tendency has always been to just go and do without pausing to ask for the Lord’s

guidance. Im definitely growing In this area! I have come a long way. Naturally, I still have moments where I move too quickly, but I’m learning to slow down and inquire of Him more often.

I want to be dependent on the Lord — not people, not resources, not even my own strength. I love the verse that says, “We can make our plans, but the Lord directs our steps.” That has become a prayer for me: “Lord, even when I start making plans, especially when I drift toward my own way, would You direct my steps back to Yours?”

Following the Lord isn’t about His need for control. Control Is a human thing! His motive Is love, it’s about alignment — walking in everything He’s already prepared. What a flip of the script.
