What a visible reminder that the Lord really is our defender. He goes before us, He stands beside us, and He surrounds us on every side...even the backside.

“When the men of Judah turned around, they were attacked from both front and rear; so they cried out to the Lord, and the priests blew the trumpets. Then the men of Judah raised a war cry; and as they shouted, God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.”‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭13‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I love that the minute Judah realized they were surrounded, they didn’t panic or strategize — they cried out. Prayer was their first response, not their last resort.

If I ever feel ambushed, maybe I should say "when I feel ambushed" — by circumstances,

ree

emotions, or even people — I want my instinct to be prayer AND peace knowing the Lord is with me! Right now, as Keimani is walking through this new program, (one he didn't volunteer for...) Im sure he’s feeling ambushed. He’s definitely frustrated and probably a bit angry even (I know he Is).

Being ambushed isn't always a bad thing actually. Sometimes it's the very thing we need. Even when we don't understand why the Lord is allowing it or why it might be happening I am confident the Lord will use the circumstances for MY (our) good. Even if it's to see how He comes to my rescue. No matter what, when the Lord begins a good work, He’s faithful to finish it. So today, I’m choosing to cling to that hope. His mercies are new every morning. And I need them — every single one.
