I used to be a teacher. I wonder if Rehoboam was a small man. All I could think about was, does this guy have little man syndrome or what? He didn't need to prove anything however

certainly acted as though he did! I can't relate to little man syndrome, but I would say I have a single-mom complex sometimes. I often feel the need to prove myself. Needing help or wanting guidance Isn't weakness. I felt like Rehoboam didn’t want to seem weak. Sadly, he surrounded himself with people who told him what he wanted to hear instead of what he needed to hear. This is a lesson I need to be reminded of often. Who we surround ourself with, what we listen to, really matters!

Lord, am I surrounding myself with people who challenge me… or people who just cheer me on?
