Before you read my blog entry, read 1Samuel 1. Feel free to share with me what stood out or confused you. I love exploring and growing in the Word together.
Making a vow, she pleaded, ‘Lord of Armies, if you will take notice of your servant’s affliction, remember and not forget me, and give your servant a son, I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.’” —1 Samuel 1:11 CSB
I haven’t walked through full infertility, but I have experienced miscarriage—and it was heartbreaking. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I’ve walked alongside friends and family who have battled infertility, and I’ve seen the deep ache that lingers when your arms long to hold what your heart is already carrying.
As a woman who fiercely loves being a mom, I honestly can’t imagine the depth of that pain.

One thing that stood out to me in Hannah’s story was how her husband tried to comfort her—he gave her extra portions, reminded her of his love—but even his tenderness couldn’t soothe an ache like that. My heart goes out to the women who long to be moms and wait for that longing to be fulfilled.
I also can’t help but think of the children who have been orphan and are caught in the system, experiencing major trauma from being taken from their biological Holmes and I’m not blaming the system and I’m also not blaming the parents because brokenness. Mental health, family dysfunction and generational sin is real.
All these heartaches make me long for heaven.
