He’s Always Faithful (Even When It Doesn’t Look Like It)

“When the people of Israel cried out to the Lord because of Midian, the Lord sent them a prophet…” (Judges 6:7-8 GNT)

I’ve been sitting in Judges this week, and once again, I’m blown away by how quickly the Lord responds when His people cry out to Him. Even after they had turned away—again—the second they repented and asked for help, God answered. He didn’t scold them first. He didn’t make them prove themselves. He responded. With grace. With help. With His presence.

It’s breathtaking, isn’t it?

The truth is, He’s still doing that today.

One of the most transformative parts of my week is our Wednesday prayer time at The Well. Together, we bring our fears, our frustrations, our heavy hopes—and we cry out to the Lord. And over and over, He meets us. Maybe not always the way we want or when we expect, but He’s always doing something. And that something is always good.

Yesterday, I received an unexpected piece of mail. It let me know where my son Syrus is currently located…and that he had attended a church there. Y’all, I didn’t see that coming. My boy is a

great kid. He’s got such a strong foundation in the Lord, and I’m so thankful for that. Since he left for college, our relationship has been strained. He’s been really distant. Communication has been almost non-existent. When I have heard from him, it’s been heavy and hard. I don’t fully know what he’s walking through right now—I just know it’s been a painful season of not knowing and having to surrender him back to the Lord daily.

Tucked inside that ordinary envelope was what felt like a holy breadcrumb from the Father. A reminder that even when I can’t see what God is doing, He’s still at work. He sees Syrus.

He sees me. He’s faithful.

Friend, maybe you’re like me—crying out, wondering what your part is, or if there’s something you need to do. But reading Judges 6 again reminds me—Gideon didn’t rush ahead. He waited on the Lord’s direction. So today, my prayer is simple and surrendered: “Lord, search me, know me, reveal anything in me that is offensive, and help me to trust You are doing what only You can do.”

He’s faithful, friends. Every single time.
