Hebrews 13: Daily Manna, Food for my soul.

Why do I read the BIBLE daily? It's my manna. Manna Is food. In the Old Testament the Israelites needed manna to survive. The Lord provided it daily. Manna is the same for us today. It's exactly what we need when we need it. Instead of comparing it to the food we eat, I think of it as food for my soul. What was crazy about the manna provided to the Israelites was that it was

literally for that day only. When they tried to store it, maggots ruined it. As we dive into the word DAILY we should do so with an understanding that we don't have to store this up. This is to work on us for today. It's a puzzle piece in the transformation. The transformation or journey is a process. This is why Im so adamant we should be in the Word daily.

We all need the daily direction; instruction, comfort, growth and conviction for living the abundant life Christ came for us to have. With that said, I woke up today feeling anxious as I rolled out of bed. My thoughts were overwhelmed with some legal matters I need to attend to. Before I read chapter 13 today I did my little gratitude list:

  1. Lord thankyou the boys are doing so well in college.

  2. Thankyou that Colton is liking his new school and playing for Coach P and Coach Battie.

  3. Lord thankyou for the space to rest today.

  4. Im so thankful for sabbath.

  5. I love my church Lord. Thankyou for bring Dream Church into our lives.

  6. Thankyou that Kristi and Kyler are expecting.

Immediately I picked up my Bible. "Lord bring me new revelation today!" I prayed as I began reading. Low and behold the very first verse calmed every fear I was having as I woke up this morning. I can't even believe It, yet I can...so I personalized it: “I will never fail you Kami. I will never abandon you.” Kami you can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, I will have no fear. What can mere people (Insert X-husbands name) do to me?” May you equip me with all I need to do Your will. May You produce in me, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to You Lord. All glory to You forever and ever! Amen.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬b-‭6‬, ‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What I love so much about this final verse is how often I pray for myself, my kids or others, and can feel as though God did forgot about me. He didn't answer my prayer, however, when I look at this today, I see that sometimes just because it wasn't answered the way I wanted it to be doesn't mean he hasn't answered or he isn't answering. So I say with confidence, feel free to say it with me...

"God is good. God is good to me. God is good at being God. I think I'll let Him."
