Genesis 5: What's in a Name?

“He named him Noah, saying, “This one shall bring us rest and comfort from our work and from the [dreadful] toil of our hands because of the ground which the Lord cursed.””

The meaning of one’s name really quite prophetic. People call you by name day in and day out. What a wonderful reminder too, how much our the words we speak hold power. Look who Noah became! Look how he was used?! I love how every-time people said His name they were

speaking powerfully prophetic.

Well I can't go back and name my kids over and I didn’t necessarily name my kids based on something I wanted to have spoken over them. I can however be super intentional as I talk with my children and about them, the power of my words. What we say to our kids and others holds real power. I loved this reminder today. Very simple!
