Genesis 28: Calling me deeper, GREATER DEPENDENCE

Oh my goodness, I can’t even begin to tell you how the Lord spoke to me today. I’m going to try to do it in the way He did it for me. What a reminder that it’s in HIS kindness that He turns us to

repentance.

“This stone which I have set up as a pillar (monument, memorial) will be God’s house [a sacred place to me], and of everything that You give me I will give the tenth to You [as an offering to signify my gratitude and dependence on You].” [Deut 12:8-11; 14:22-26; 26:1-11]”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭28‬:‭22‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As I read this final verse today specifically in this translation, I was reminded how very clear the Lord is about tithing... AND the purpose for it. He certainly doesn't need "our tithe," because He doesn’t. It’s about the posture of my heart AND obedience. Tithing has always been a nonnegotiable for me. It's always been something I knew was not mine. Easy, peasy.

I kid you not...not even 20 minutes after reading today's chapter did I get a Holy Spirit impression impressing the value and meaning of Sabbath. It was like the Lord used my obedience in tithing to highlight my lack of obedience in "honoring" the Sabbath. It too is a sign of dependence on God, just like tithing is. OH how inconsistent I have been with the Sabbath. It makes me think of the verse in Luke that says, “So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?" (Luke 6:46NLT)

Well that’s it! I heard Him loud and clear. So I today I say, "Yes Lord!!!!"
