Before I read the book, Understanding The Purpose and Power of Prayer I really had no idea the significance of the authority we have been given right here in the 1st chapter in the 1st book of the
Bible. It's one of these things I never really understood. Now I cannot unsee it.
“Then God said, ‘We will make humans so that they are very much like us. They will rule over the fish in the sea and over the birds in the sky. They will rule over the farm animals. They will rule over the whole earth and all the animals that move along the ground.’”
Genesis 1:26 EASY
We truly have been given authority here on earth. We have a responsibility to God’s creation and to this earth. God is allowing us the space to call on his name when we need his intervention. I can't help cry out, "Lord intercede on our behalf as hurricane Milton approaches landfall. I know you are willing and able and I beg of you to do what only you can do here on earth. Protect us Lord, guide this storm and help us trust in you."
Many people say the reason the water down here around Florida is so hot is because of global warming. I try not to get involved in politics and conversations around politics, but today has me not only praying for protection from the storm, but just praying that as believers, we truly understand our authority here and take seriously our part.
The Bible says In this world we will have trouble, BUT take heart, The Lord has overcome the world. What truth to rest in today as I continue to pray and ask the Lord to help us in our time of need. What does the group Journey say, "Don't stop believing?" Okay but in all seriousness I'll keep on praying and playing worship music. It really helps me to fight the fear that wants to creep in. How do you handle the storms in your life?
