Exodus 39: The Depth of my Gratitude

“Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet. You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume. “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭7‬:‭44‬-‭47‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’ve been challenged to read two random verses in the Bible daily. The goal is to find simliarities and differences. As I read my chapter for The Well Encounter today (Exodus 39) and the story in Luke 7 I was reminded of the power of being saved or rescued breeding deep appreciation and gratitude. Daily I have contemplated the reality of having Jesus with us. He is in us. He goes before me like the cloud that lead the Israelites. He wants a personal relationship with me, which seems unfathomable. The woman in the story of Luke was moved so deeply. Just so moved by what the Lord had done. It compelled me to ask myself, "Do I even comprehend truly what I have at my fingertips with the Holy Spirit?" Jesus came and died on the cross and because of this great gift I have Jesus with me and in me. It overwhelms me.

As I read through ALL the things they put together and the process required daily to not even have

a chance to be in the Lords presence directly hits me to the core. I’m just in awe of what we have our hands on and the gift that we have been given. I wonder if I had to take the time to do all these things that were required of them if I would’ve taken it more seriously?

“And so at last the Tabernacle was finished. The Israelites had done everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses. So the people of Israel followed all of the Lord’s instructions to Moses."

"Then Moses inspected all their work. When he found it had been done just as the Lord had commanded him, he blessed them.”

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭39‬:‭32‬, ‭42‬-‭43‬ ‭NLT‬‬
