I read this verse in multiple translations today. I really enjoyed doing that. I started in the Message this morning and Im so glad I did. This is a famous verse, but I didn't recognize it initially since the translation in The Message was so different. What drew me to this verse was the power we have to overcome all thing because the blood of Jesus and I was especially drawn to the phrase, "They weren't in love with themselves."

I have spent far too much of my life growing my social media, building my brand and hoping to make something of my life! Now at the age of 44 Im realizing how I have wasted so much time
worrying about my purpose and popularity only to realize how much more I could have been doing to make the name of Jesus famous. I do not feel regret per-say, I simply feel a prompting to do different. NOW IS THE TIME to switch gears. Yes I can still have a career and use social media, but my motives are officially different. Everything I do I want to do in an effort to ultimately point people to Jesus. What a reminder for those of us who already claim to be followers of Jesus! FAMOUS FOR by Tauren Wells
Lord I fall to my knees today in repentance for the times in my life where I have focused more on making myself look better and feel better than I have on who You are. We just had the worst hurricane in Florida's history this past week on the west coast. Homes were and still are flooded, people are devastated and I see more than ever how much we need you Jesus. Help me to prioritize that truth in all I do. Thankyou for your faithfulness, your goodness and the victory we have because of you Lord.
