Okay of all the books we read in the Bible this has never been one of my most favorite to read. It is however one I am eager to better understand. I plan to really lean into the shares of others, read commentaries on the chapters and attend multiple Bible studies throughout the week too. Also, before I started reading Revelation, I prayed and asked the Lord to keep me from being completely logical about this book of the Bible and to strengthen my relationship with Him through my reading of this book. I love how right out of the gate this verse jumped out at me: ““I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End],” says the Lord God, “Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all].” [Is 9:6]”
Revelation 1:8 AMP
It reminds me of a couple worship songs
And this: Lord of Lords, king of kings!!!!!!
I found myself falling on my knees this morning In just complete awe of who God is and how much
He loves me. I couldn't wait to share how the Lord had given me such intimate revelation this morning and dive into what other women were experiencing right out of the gate. I wanted to share what another founding member of The Well Encounter, Inc had to say after her time in the word:
"Great blessings belong to the person who READS the words of this message from God and to those who HEAR this message and DO what is written in it. There is not much time left. THE CALL. We read daily. That’s our part. That’s our spiritual discipline. That’s our quality time with God daily. We listen for the Holy Spirit to quicken our spirit to what is being shared. We are curious. We are alert and open minded. Then we Do what is asked of us in the text. Many times we are called to repent. To make a 360 and lay down our ways to follow Gods ways. That’s the call in these opening verses. The crazy part is Gods word says those that read, listen and do what is asked of us as we read this book in the Bible WILL BE BLESSED, yet many people shy away from this book in the Bible. The enemy blocks that very blessing. He uses fear in many ways. This is the only verse in the Bible that says by reading this prophetic book you will be blessed. No wonder the enemy wishes to BLOCK your blessing ladies. I’m so excited to dig into this with you all!" Revelation 1:4&5 ERV
Finally one new thing I learned recently was how the Holy Spirit was described.
Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is coming; (God) and from the seven spirits before his throne; ( Holy Spirit ) and from Jesus Christ. The trinity was present in John’s vision. It is interesting to me that because John had a personal relationship to Jesus he called him by name. He used descriptive words for God and the Holy Spirit. Keep these in mind as we journey on throughout revelation so that you understand who John is speaking about. I never realized the 7 Spirits before the throne of God was the Holy Spirit. Revelation 1:3 ERV
Lets commit to letting nothing hold us back from reading Revelation. Remember you do not need to tackle this alone. We have our Well Community and the Holy Spirit!
