“So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.” Nehemiah 1:4 (NKJV)

When something hits you so hard it makes you sick to your stomach… when you don’t know what to do next… when the situation feels bigger than you—Nehemiah shows us how to handle things when we feel this way. He didn’t numb it, ignore it, or power through it that's for sure... he sat with it. Then he brought it to God. We see him fast and pray! He let the hard thing drive him toward God, not away from Him.

What a reminder: we are never left to figure things out alone, and we are never without hope. God meets us in the mess and the uncertainty—and He still gives strength, and a way forward.
