Job 27:11–12 (NLT) “I will teach you about God’s power. I will not conceal anything concerning the Almighty. But you have seen all this, yet you say all these useless things to me.”
I felt a strange sense of relief when I saw the heading “Job’s Final Speech” in my Bible today.
It's like Job finally realizes his words are falling on deaf ears. He knows he has both talked the talk and walked the walk, yet the people around him still refuse to believe what’s right in front of them.
Sadly his experience Is one that feels painfully familiar. This is the world we’re living in Isn't It. Even when people see the evidence, they still choose a different narrative—one that fits their comfort or ideology better. We’re living in a “don’t believe what you see, believe what we tell you it is” era, and it’s grievous to watch.
Here’s what comforts me: I get to be settled in my spirit with Jesus. Job clung to the hope that trouble wouldn’t last forever, and he decided to stay with God no matter what. He didn’t turn away just because his friends had a form of godliness but lacked real power. He simply chose to stay close to the One who holds all power. Lord, I needed that reminder today. When everything else fails, I will stick with You.
All my help comes from You.
I love the declaration I’m hearing here, and I come into agreement with it. What a grounding focus to start the day.
