Filling the Void

"Word of God speak

Would You pour down like rain

Washing my eyes to see

Your majesty

To be still and know

That You're in this place

Please let me stay and rest

In Your holiness

Word of God speak"

*Song by MercyMe

Years ago, I struggled emotionally, spiritually, and physically despite outward appearances of success. For five years, I've searched for words to describe this period until Revelation 3:20 came to mind.

”Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within, I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.“

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬ ‭TPT‬‬

For a long time, I felt empty, sad, and alone, unable to articulate what I lacked. But as I prayed, I felt drawn to God's Word. Though I've been a Christian all my life, I'd never read the Bible for myself, feeling intimidated and unqualified. With encouragement from friends, I began reading just one chapter a day, and God showed me how encountering Him daily in His Word filled the void.

Jesus is the missing piece for everyone, believer or not. He's knocking at the door of your soul, waiting for you to open it. I've been opening that door every morning for over five years, and my life has been forever changed. God knew what I was missing and longed for, something that earthly success couldn't satisfy. It's a void only He can fill.
