Leviticus 19&20: We Weren't Meant to Blend In

Writer's picture: Kami PentecostKami Pentecost

What a WORD this morning. The Lord isn’t making rules for the sake of making rules and exercising world domination...good thing right? He wants us to be set apart. We are the be Salt and Light. Stand out. Not blend in.

“And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.”

‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭20‬:‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

All the rules set in place were four our good, of course. The Lord wanted justice AND to separate US, God's people, from behaving and living like the people in the area they were heading into and like the people where they had just come from. The Lord wanted them to be different. Luke puts it like this: "Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear."  Luke 14:34-35

The closer we stay to Jesus, the more light we will display...and the more saltiness, flavor, we will have. Don’t try to do this work in your own strength. Let Christ do it through you!

How you ask?

Well Im glad you asked! Lets chat:

He sent His son. Jesus died for us. When He went back to be with the Father, He sent the Holy Spirit. Spend time with him, yield to him, get to know him. The more time we spend in His Word and His presence, the more like Him we become. His power comes on us. His burden is easy, his yoke is light. He knows we can’t do it alone that’s why he sent Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Be sure to prioritize spending time with Him. Get in His Word, meditate on it and spend time talking together. It won't be long before we naturally become more like Him.
