The whole chapter today describes the Tabernacle that the Israelites were to make so that God could dwell with them while they were in the wilderness.
“There I will meet with you; from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, I will speak [intimately] with you regarding every commandment that I will give you for the Israelites.”
Exodus 25:22 AMP
The amount of detail and specificity they had to follow is incredible—it makes total sense, though.
How else could we imagine building a place to house our King? It’s wild to think about. They could only meet with God in His dwelling place.
And yet, I don’t think I fully grasp the reality that I am now the dwelling place for the Lord. That truth changes everything. It makes caring for my body feel so much more significant, but even more than that, I’m in awe of the accessibility and intimacy I have with Christ.
Imagine if we truly saw ourselves the way God sees us—with the immense value He places on us. What a perspective shift that would be!
I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank You, Lord.
