“During those seven days, there must be no trace of yeast in your homes. Anyone who eats anything made with yeast during this week will be cut off from the community of Israel. These regulations apply both to the foreigners living among you and to the native-born Israelites.”
The more I read the Bible the better I understand the Jewish rituals. There is so much meaning
behind each one. What a reminder to the importance of remembering as a practice from generation to generation. While it may be easy to get lost in the details of these rituals required it’s wonderful to see the basis for which these were put in place. How very faithful the Lord has been and what a reminder how important it is to talk about that goodness and faithfulness regularly. I’m getting more and more intrigued and invested in understanding and participating in these celebrations. I want to not only celebrate all the GOOD things God does in my life, but looking back to what He has done as a reminder of His character.
“Then your children will ask, ‘What does this ceremony mean?’ And you will reply, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. And though he struck the Egyptians, he spared our families.’” When Moses had finished speaking, all the people bowed down to the ground and worshiped.”
